This course provides a legal and practical overview of liability risks and procedural rules in architectural practice. Participants will examine the professional standard of care and the evidentiary role of affidavits in claims against design professionals. The curriculum addresses common causes of action against architects—focusing on liabilities arising during both the design phase and ongoing contract administration—while analyzing essential contract provisions used to manage risk. Finally, attendees will explore critical procedural defenses, including the distinct applications and impacts of the statute of limitations and the statute of repose.
